✨ Our Approach ✨
Play lies at the heart of Playcrafter Kids Preschool. Each day offers an open invitation for inquisitive children to explore, imagine, create, and learn about the world and their place within it. Through exposure to a diverse range of performing and visual arts and skills, children unlock their innate creativity while delving into various topics, emotions, and scenarios.
We kindly blend the philosophies of Montessori, Waldorf, and Reggio to provide our children with a well-rounded program tailored to their individual needs and applicable to real-world situations. Social-emotional skills are seamlessly woven into our curriculum, fostering connections, communication, and self-awareness among our students.
Our Daily Flow
1. Morning Arrival & Choice Time
At drop-off, children are warmly greeted and invited to begin their day with outdoor play and/or choosing an indoor activity. This gentle arrival allows children to settle in at their own pace.
2. Morning Meeting & Snack (9:30 a.m.)
At 9:30 a.m., we gather for our Morning Meeting, which includes song, stories, and group conversation. New activities are introduced during this time. Afterwards, we wash hands and enjoy snack together.
3. AM Play Cycle & Enrichment
Following snack, children enter a play cycle where they choose activities that spark their interests. An enrichment teacher may join us during this time to offer additional experiences.
4. Outdoor Play & Midday Transition (11:15 a.m.)
We play outside most days so we ask children to have layers - it is Colorado after all!
Half-Day AM Program Pick-up: 11:45 - 12:00 p.m.
5. Lunch & Rest
Around 12:15 p.m., we transition inside for lunch. Stories and your child’s homemade lunch are enjoyed. Children then prepare for rest on their cots with their blankets, stuffies, and stories.
6. PM Play Cycle, Snack & Outdoor Play
The afternoon follows a similar rhythm to the morning, with additional ACTivities, snack time, and outdoor play.
8. Afternoon Pick-Up
Monday–Thursday: 3:30–5:00 p.m.
Fridays: 3:30–4:00 p.m.
We’re flexible with pick-up and drop-off times and simply ask that families communicate with us in advance.
Our Child-Centered Preschool Spaces
Why the creative arts?
The creative arts foster the development of a unique sense of self-awareness while promoting empathy, communication, connection, and teamwork. When utilized as a learning tool, the performing arts support and guide children in exploring their world.
The performing arts encompass the expression of emotion, tone, and more. When children engage in drama, dance, music, and art from a young age, they are more inclined to express themselves without fear of judgment from peers. Through ensemble thinking, children collaboratively work together, building social-emotional skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
