Deanna Mae

Deanna Mae brings 12 years of diverse performance and teaching experience to you. She grew up in New York where she attended Mount Saint Mary College and received her B.A. in Elementary and Special Education with a M.A. in Literacy (Birth-Grade 6). Deanna has trained and studied under several vocal and acting coaches in NY and CO. She’s living her dream by sharing her love of story, music and the arts by being a local theatre teacher and performer. Deanna serves several schools and organizations around the Fort Collins area and fills up her summer with countless theater camps for children ages 3-18. She will begin teaching at Axis International Academy as the English Kindergarten teacher this fall. Deanna recently directed Act II’s, Fort Collins Children’s Theatre’s newest program, production of Singin’ in the Rain (June 2019). She co-directed an original play, En Route, at the 2018 Fort Collins' Fringe Festival that won 1st place for the Artist's Choice Award. Local performances include Belle in FCCT’s Beauty & the Beast, Amanda and Belle in La-De-Da’s A Musical Christmas Carol, Aquata in FCCT’s The Little Mermaid, and Gertrude in FCCT’s Seussical. Deanna serves on the Fort Collins Children’s Theater board and volunteers with Fort Collins Read Aloud. She calls Fort Collins home with her daughter, partner, and fur-babies. Her main objective is to cultivate children’s innate creativity to come forth through the arts and inspire families to play, connect and create together.

Daniel Goldschmidt

Daniel Goldschmidt, MT-BC has been a board-certified music therapist since 2013, and recently completed coursework for his master’s in music therapy from CSU. He has used music to help individuals meet their therapeutic goals with people of all ages; from preschoolers, to adolescents with special needs, to members of the military, to dementia care, to end-of-life care. He has spoken around the US on topics related to music cognition (see his TEDx talk here) and music therapy, and has been accepted to speak with TEDxMILEHIGH in Denver on music therapy and autism spectrum disorder. Daniel is excited to be working with Playcrafter Kids LLC this summer using music as a vehicle for learning and growing!

Chantel Akers

Chantel Akers (RYT-500) is a Colorado native and received her associates degree from FRCC and bachelors degree from CSU in Fort Collins. She took her first yoga class in 2005 has been practicing asana for years. When at a Mommy & Me class with her daughter she had an “aha moment” and decided it was time to pursue yoga teacher training! In the Fall of 2017, Chantel received her 200 hour certification from Om Ananda Yoga, a Shambhava Yoga affiliate. In pursuance of her new found passion to learn about the many aspects of yoga, she continued with the Upper Level Teacher Training program at OAY and received her 500 hour certification in December 2018. Chantel completed a Children’s Yoga Teacher 90 hour certification in the summer of 2019 as she truly believes all ages can benefit physically, mentally and spiritually from yoga. Chantel has taught multiple kid sessions at Om Ananda Yoga, a weekly series at Moxi Yoga Works, and at a local elementary school. In class kiddos learn yoga poses, different breathing techniques, basic anatomy, mind-body awareness, practicing mindfulness, and being present.
